Down payment, car for sale, and Spring Break

This week has been pretty crazy. We have been preparing for our upcoming spring break plans by checking a bunch of items off of our to do list. The biggest thing we did was Addi agreed to sell her baby, Bumble Bee, her car she has had for almost seven years. We have been scouring the internet and car dealerships to find our next auto and we look like we have found our car. That purchase will come along in the next few days or so. We also put our down payment on our rent this weekend. We are happy to have that little piece set for us to move in at the beginning of May, after finals week. I am looking forward to being with Addi all day, every day. We have our spring break time this week and I am looking forward to going out of town for a few days, hopefully to catch some sunshine. I am excited for all the things that are coming up. See everybody next week. :)

Getting Dressed

This weekend was full of wedding preparations and getting some of the bigger items left on our list out of the way. The tasks we took on this week were getting Addi's dress jacket fitted, getting the flowers paid for, and purchasing my suit for the wedding. We went together to The Perfect Dress just off Fort Union Boulevard for Addi's dress fitting. She was incredibly anxious to get there and I can understand why. The store was a zoo, packed with girls trying on every type of dress for every occasion. It was hectic, but once we got everything worked out it was nice to get back to other things. Addi finalized the purchase of the flowers on Monday. I went to Mr Mac downtown to get my suits. I had a wonderful experience with Rob, the suit expert, @ Mr Mac. He helped us out and made the suit purchase so simple. I was really impressed. This next week we are looking forward to getting ready for a bit of a break from the run around with spring break looming on the horizon. We look forward to being able to relax and potentially catch a few rays.

Working out the kinks

This week has been pretty fun. We have done so many things that I can't really focus on one particular thing. We did some more things on our registry, got our flowers worked out, went suit shopping, and looked into getting ready for picture-taking. I was happy yesterday when I was assured that everything is going to be taken care of in regards to cost for the wedding. It has taken some time and a lot of shed tears, but the fact is that there is so many things that are being finalized that it is a real relief now that things are slowly coming closer to the wedding date. I am so excited to get it all done! :)

Cupcakes

This week we had the opportunity to go to the cupcake shop called So Cupcake to taste the difference between their most highly famed cakes. We tried the red velvet, vanilla, raspberry lemon, cinnamon sugar, and their Hostess cupcake. We came to the decision that we wanted to have the cinnamon sugar and raspberry lemon cakes for our wedding cake. We are very excited to have these cakes decided on and out of the way. It was a fun time with Addi.

Catering...for the reception

This week has been all about the food. We have been trying everything we can to get the catering figured out at the smallest cost possible. We are planning on a simple chocolate fountain and Italian sodas. That seems like a really cheap option for a reception, right? Well, as it turns out, the cost is pretty steep for such a request. We have been doing everything to get the correct quotes from the caterers and make sure all their calculations are what we plan for. I had no idea this could be such a task. But Addi has been a trooper and stuck with all the guns she has been given. She is always talking with the right people and it looks like we will have the correct choice made by the next week or so.
I will keep everyone posted...

Fun with Family

This weekend was wonderful. I was able to spend time with my wonderful fiancé and our extended families on both sides of our future family. It was great to attend my cousin Addie's baptism on Saturday and be able to spend time with cousins, aunts and uncles. I also loved being able to go to Holland and Jen's new house @ Suncrest to watch the Super Bowl with my Addi's family. We are so lucky to have great family support from both sides. I love being able to have my family close to me when I most need them. I love my Babe so much. I can't wait to be with her forever and share all the wonderful parts of marriage. I love this crazy, busy, exciting, fun time. The future is very bright!

Challenges Abound

This week was very interesting. The greatest difficulty with preparing for a wedding is communication. As the groom-to-be, I am the voice most often between my bride and my parents. I never realized how many pieces have to fit perfectly together in order for the wedding to be an unforgettable day. I'm always glad to see that both parties are seeking to know what the other is thinking, but the tears of frustration from both ends were taxing when communication wasn't happening affectively. Until we sat down and put every item on a list, each side had a different agenda. Now we are communicating and we all have the blueprint in our mind of what is upcoming. This week on Thursday will be four months to the day. We are so excited!
